As part of both our Transitional Care and outpatient services, Garfield County Hospital District provides special attention for wound healing and prevention.

Our wound care services at GCHD involve every stage of wound management and healing. Types of wounds we manage include:
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic ulcers
  • Venous or arterial ulcers
  • Surgical wounds
  • Ostomies 
  • Minor burns
  • Many other integument injuries 

Concerned about how your wound is healing?
Through proper identification and management of all influencing factors, we provide optimal healing for many types of wounds. 

Factors that may affect wound healing: 
  • Acute or chronic health issues
  • Medications
  • Lifestyle factors such as smoking, obesity, malnutrition
  • Type and severity of wound
