Imaging Suite Funding Project
Join Garfield County Hospital District (GCHD) in our mission to bring advanced imaging capabilities to our region.
Our goal is clear: to raise funds for the construction of a state-of-the-art imaging suite, including a much-needed CT scanner, that will exist right here in the Garfield County area. Addressing Critical Healthcare Needs With an estimated total project cost of $3,891,204.88, this initiative is crucial for enhancing patient care and reducing the need for referrals to outside facilities, which are located many miles away in larger towns or cities. Our goal is to have this project fully completed by the end of 2026, if not sooner. |
Join Us in Making a Difference

Improving Stroke Care and Beyond
Why is this project essential? Consider the impact on stroke care alone. Currently, without a CT scanner on-site, valuable time is lost as patients either bypass our facility or undergo immediate transfers for critical care. This delay can significantly affect patient outcomes. Beyond this, countless other medical conditions necessitate CT scans for accurate diagnosis and treatment, highlighting the pressing need for local access to such services.
Financial Impact and Stability
Financially, this project holds promise for GCHD. Conservative estimates suggest that just adding CT scanning services alone could generate approximately $730,000 in net income, contributing to the hospital’s financial stability and enabling future improvements.
Modernizing Infrastructure for Enhanced Patient Experience
The proposed imaging suite represents a significant step forward in modernizing our facilities. Relocating diagnostic imaging services from the outdated original hospital building (constructed in 1946) will not only improve our patient experience but also address longstanding infrastructure challenges, including outdated heating systems and inadequate air circulation.
