About Garfield County Hospital District
We are a rural district located in Pomeroy Washington, employing more than 90 staff members from Garfield County and the surrounding areas. We offer two facilities - Garfield County Hospital, and the Pomeroy Medical Clinic. Between our two facilities we provide 25 beds, a 24/7 emergency department, same-day lab services, diagnostic imaging and more! Our medical clinic is open 5 days a week. We have a dedicated and compassionate staff that cares greatly about our patients and residents.

History
GCHD originally opened its doors in 1948, on land the local community donated to the city. In 1999 the hospital became the first critical access hospital in the state of Washington. The hospital and clinic offer primary care as well as community outreach programs such as chronic disease management, diabetes education, health education and screenings, immunizations, smoking cessation and weight loss programs.
